On a cold November day in 2020, the life of 17-year-old Lorenzo Williams Jr., a Black male, was cut short by gunfire on the northwest side of Milwaukee. His death on November 30, 2020, would become the tragic starting point for a cascade of violence that would grip the city for nearly two years.
