On the evening of June 8, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the ordinary rhythm of a Milwaukee street, ending the life of Runta A. Foster. A 52-year-old Black/African American man, Foster was simply a passenger in a car, traveling near Teutonia Avenue, when the fatal encounter occurred. An unidentified individual approached the vehicle, and without warning, fired shots that found their mark in Foster. Despite immediate efforts to save him, his injuries proved to be too severe.
