On the last day of 2021, a young Black/African American man, 19-year-old Fredrick Davis Jr., lost his life in a shooting in Stoughton, Wisconsin. The incident, which unfolded on New Year's Eve, was not a random act of violence but the tragic culmination of a drug transaction gone wrong. Davis had reportedly arranged to sell Percocet pills to a man named Kevon Carter.
