On November 12, 2016, Colin Demge, a 33-year-old well-known musician and resident of Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood, was found shot to death outside his home near the intersection of Weil and Meinecke. The incident occurred early in the morning, just before 1:00 a.m., when police responded to the scene after receiving calls about gunfire and cries for help.
