A Black / African American teenager, 16-year-old Shaun Dorsey, was found dead in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 19, 2022. The last time his mother saw him alive was on Thursday, September 15, 2022, when she dropped him off at a friend's house in the Parklawn neighborhood, near 47th and Marion. She had arranged to pick him up at 8 p.m. that evening, but when she returned, he was not there and was not answering his phone.
After three days of searching, calling, and texting, his mother
reported him missing to the police on Saturday, September 17. Four days after he was last seen, on September 19, Dorsey's body was discovered in the basement of a vacant house on North 38th Street, near Center and Hadley. He had been fatally shot. Authorities noted that there was talk among his friends and associates over the weekend that something had happened to him and that he was in a house, indicating that others may have known about his death before his body was officially found.
As of October 2025, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Shaun Dorsey, and Milwaukee police continue to seek unknown suspects. The case remains an open investigation. In an effort to generate leads, a reward of $25,000 has been offered by a local attorney for any information that leads to an arrest. Dorsey’s family continues to plead for justice, holding vigils in his memory and asking for anyone with information to come forward. He would have turned 17 just three days after his body was discovered.
