On January 17, 2022, 34-year-old Adam McCormick was killed on Milwaukee's north side. The Kaukauna man's death stemmed from what was reported to be a drug deal that went awry, culminating in a fatal argument. McCormick was shot by Mack Chambliss, an event that led to a multi-person effort to conceal the crime.
Following the shooting, Chambliss, with the help of others, placed McCormick's body in a vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing people carrying his body out to a car.
The body was later discovered in a car in Dane County after a woman was arrested in Cambridge. That woman, Angelina Ruesch, was found armed with a handgun at a gas station, asking people for money or a ride. A search of her nearby vehicle uncovered McCormick's body.
The investigation led to charges against four individuals. Mack Chambliss faced the most severe charges of first-degree reckless homicide and hiding a corpse. Danelle Eaton and Angelina Ruesch were charged with hiding a corpse and aiding a felon, while Melissa Calvert was charged with aiding a felon.
Ultimately, a Milwaukee County jury found Mack Chambliss guilty of first-degree reckless homicide, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and hiding a corpse. For his role in the death of Adam McCormick, Chambliss was sentenced to 52 years in prison, followed by 30 years of extended supervision.
