On February 2, 2022, Allison R. Rogers, a 25-year-old White/Caucasian woman, tragically lost her life in her La Crosse, Wisconsin, home. A graduate of Logan High School in 2014, she was known for her active involvement in extracurricular activities, including the marching band, dance team, and track team. At the time of her death, she was pursuing a career in radiography at Western Technical College while working as a restaurant leader at Culver's, where she had been employed for over seven
years. In a testament to her character, she had previously been honored by the La Crosse Fire Department for her role in saving a child's life.
The circumstances of her death were the result of a domestic violence incident that culminated in a murder-suicide. La Crosse police were called to a residence on Charles Street on the evening of February 2nd, where they discovered the bodies of Ms. Rogers and a man identified as 26-year-old Jordan D. Garcia. Also deceased at the scene was a dog.
According to the preliminary investigation, law enforcement officials determined that Mr. Garcia had shot Ms. Rogers and the dog before taking his own life. The La Crosse Police Department confirmed that there was no ongoing threat to the public following the incident. The investigation into the events that led to this tragic outcome remained active and ongoing. No arrests were made as the sole suspect was also deceased.
