On the evening of March 8, 2022, a sense of normalcy was shattered by a sudden, violent act that claimed the life of 16-year-old Zarion Zakee Waheed, a Black male from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident unfolded around 6:42 p.m. near the intersection of 52nd and West Stark Street. Residents in the area reported hearing a loud noise, which some initially dismissed as thunder. This sound, however, was a fatal gunshot that would cut a young life tragically short.
