In the fall of 2021, a heart-wrenching series of events unfolded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, culminating in the death of a 3-year-old boy named Major P. Harris. The tragic story began on October 14, when the body of Major’s mother, 25-year-old Mallery Muenzenberger, was discovered in the backyard of a residence. She had been fatally shot. At the time, authorities were unaware that her young son was missing, a realization that would come two days later, prompting a frantic search and the issuance
of an Amber Alert for the child.
The investigation into Mallery's death quickly pointed to a person of interest, 20-year-old Jaheem Clark. Evidence led police to believe Clark, in whose backyard Mallery's body was found, was connected to her murder and Major's disappearance. As law enforcement closed in on a home where Clark was located on October 17, he died from what was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His death added another layer of complexity to the desperate search for Major, leaving critical questions unanswered.
For days, the community and law enforcement held out hope for Major's safe return, conducting extensive searches. The agonizing search came to a devastating end on October 21, 2021, when Major Harris's body was found in an alleyway. The young boy had been shot in the head. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office later concluded that Major was likely killed around the same time as his mother.
In the aftermath, police revealed that several arrests had been made in connection with Mallery Muenzenberger's homicide, though not directly for Major's death. One of these individuals eventually provided police with the location of the boy's body. Despite the arrests, the Milwaukee Police Department ultimately concluded that Jaheem Clark was responsible for both murders before he took his own life.
