This assault was part of a pattern of violent behavior by Jackson, who had previously attacked Booker and another victim on February 27, 2022. During this incident, Booker sustained severe injuries to her face and head, which left her heavily bleeding and semi-conscious. Despite these assaults, Jackson managed to evade capture until the fatal encounter with Booker in April.
Following Booker's death, a significant investigation ensued. Authorities identified and charged three women—Diamond Hood, Alicia Skyes, and Carmelita Walker—for harboring and aiding Jackson while he was on the run.
