In the spring of 2022, a wave of violence struck the city of Milwaukee, and among the victims was Sylvester J. Toliver, a 52-year-old Black male. On the evening of May 11, 2022, tragedy befell Toliver near the intersection of 44th and Lisbon, in close proximity to Washington Park.
