On the morning of August 12, 2022, 20-year-old Elexis Gridiron, a Black/African American female, was shot and killed in her Milwaukee, Wisconsin, apartment near 76th Street and Brown Deer Road. A certified nursing assistant with aspirations of becoming an ultrasound technician, she was getting ready for work when the fatal incident occurred. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
