On the evening of Saturday, June 16, 2018, Pablo Gutierrez Reyes, a 47-year-old male, traveled to Shoreline, a city just north of Seattle, under the impression that he was meeting individuals for a drug deal. Instead, the meeting was a premeditated robbery that ended in his tragic death. Reyes was fatally shot during the encounter, a victim of gun violence in what was supposed to be a transaction but was, in reality, a violent setup.
The investigation into the homicide quickly led
authorities to a suspect. A 17-year-old named Luis Campuzano was identified and arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. According to prosecutors, the motive for the killing was robbery. Key evidence, including video surveillance footage, phone records, and shell casings, coupled with a timely arrest by the Seattle police, allowed King County sheriff's detectives to piece together the events of that night and point to Campuzano as the primary suspect.
Another individual, Hintsaselassie Feseha, was also present in the vehicle with Campuzano at the time of the incident. While Campuzano faced accusations for the murder, Feseha was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree. The legal proceedings for Feseha were complex and involved testimony from witnesses who observed the individuals in the vehicle shortly after the shooting. This tragic event cut short the life of Pablo Gutierrez Reyes and led to serious charges against the young men involved.
