On the evening of April 13, 2019, in Tacoma, Washington, 42-year-old Daniel Stueart, a White male, tragically lost his life. At approximately 7:30 p.m., the sound of a single gunshot pierced the air in a large transient encampment located in the 10000 block of Steele Street South, near Charlton Lake. Witnesses in the area reported hearing the shot followed by the distinct sound of someone running away from the scene.
