On October 16, 1995, the life of 36-year-old White/Caucasian male John Bananola, an eight-year veteran of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, was tragically cut short. Bananola was part of a six-man team serving a narcotics-related search warrant at a residence located at 902 E 52nd Street in Tacoma, Washington.
