On a summer afternoon in Hazel Dell, Washington, a dispute between roommates escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 45-year-old Michael Neil Brachais, a Caucasian male. The events of July 6, 2021, unfolded at a house on Northwest 82nd Street, where Brachais resided with his roommate, Justin Nicholas Romero, who was 31 at the time.
