He attended Skyview High School in Salmon Creek, WA, and was close to graduating. Gage was known for his kind heart, love for music, and talent in football. He was also an expecting father at the time of his death.
On the day of his death, Gage was involved in a premeditated drug deal that turned fatal. He had arranged to sell marijuana to Tristan Cienfuegos, who, along with Oriley Huynh and Terrance Busby, planned to rob him during the transaction. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a strip mall in Hazel Dell. During the robbery attempt, Huynh shot and killed Gage. The suspects fled the scene but were later apprehended by the authorities.
The investigation revealed that the suspects and Gage knew each other. Cienfuegos was identified as the mastermind behind the robbery, while Huynh was the shooter, and Busby was the getaway driver. All three suspects were charged with first-degree murder. Cienfuegos and Huynh were held without bail, and Busby's charge was elevated from second-degree to first-degree murder due to his involvement in the premeditated crime.
