In the late hours of a summer evening in Kennewick, Washington, the life of 65-year-old Leonard Slack, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On August 9, 2021, Slack was found inside his apartment with gunshot wounds to his forearm and stomach. Despite the grave nature of his injuries, he was able to seek help from a neighbor and identify his attacker before being rushed to the hospital.
