In the late summer of 2021, the life of 20-year-old Zoey Martinez, a Latina transgender woman, was tragically cut short in Seattle, Washington. On September 1st, her body was discovered in an alley in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood by a person out for an early morning jog. The cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, ruling her death a homicide.
