Mark Skinner Clarke, a 29-year-old man, was last seen on December 1, 1983, in Tuckasegee, North Carolina. Clarke had become estranged from his family after joining the L'Abri Christian Fellowship in 1982, and his last known contact with them was in January 1983. In early December 1983, he was reportedly placed on a plane by a member of the fellowship, possibly flying to either Baltimore, Maryland, or Washington, D.C.
