A member of the Puyallup Tribe, Thiy, who was known to his friends as "Ty," was a boy described as having an outgoing personality and a smile that could light up a room. On the evening of December 19, 2021, at approximately 9:15
p.m., police responded to a call of shots fired in the 9100 block of South Alaska Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Thiy unresponsive in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
