On a tragic autumn day in Allen, Kentucky, the lives of five men, including 28-year-old Michael Joe Halbert, were violently cut short. The date was October 16, 1981, when a retired coal miner named William 'Okie' Bevins, aged 70, walked into an auto parts store and opened fire, killing five people and wounding three others.
