In the early morning hours of September 12, 2014, in Mayfield, Kentucky, the life of 17-year-old Michael “Eli” Mahoney was tragically cut short. The male teenager was killed in his home while bravely attempting to protect his mother, Kim Thomas, from her estranged boyfriend, Terry Froman. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots at approximately 5 a.m., shattering the quiet of the morning.
