On a cold Christmas Eve in 1900, a dedicated lawman, John B. Usher, a 33-year-old White male, met a violent end in the line of duty in Mayfield, Kentucky. As a Graves County Deputy Sheriff, Usher was known for his commitment to upholding the law, a resolve that would tragically cost him his life on that fateful day.
