In the late morning of a summer day in Shreveport, Louisiana, a 50-year-old man named Elbert Lloyd Knox was seen for what would be the last time. On June 22, 2013, around 10:00 a.m., he was in the vicinity of the 2600 block of Circle Drive. He was also reportedly seen walking down Kemp Lane, which is less than half a mile from his home on Circle Drive. From that moment on, Elbert, who also went by the name Everett Knox, seemingly vanished without a trace. His family has not seen or heard from him since that day. It was uncharacteristic for Elbert to leave without informing anyone of his whereabouts, and his family does not believe he would have willingly gone with a stranger. His disappearance left his loved ones with a profound sense of worry and a multitude of unanswered questions. At the time he went missing, Elbert was described as a Black / African American male, standing at 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. He had black and gray hair and brown eyes. Distinctive features included a scar above his left eyebrow and a rash on the back of his left leg. On the day he disappeared, he was wearing a blue shirt with thin white stripes, dark blue basketball shorts, and black canvas shoes. Elbert's health was also a significant concern, as he was on medication for both bipolar disorder and high blood pressure, conditions that required regular treatment. The fact that he left without his necessary medication added another layer of urgency and concern to the search for him. The investigation into Elbert's disappearance began promptly. A family member made a concerning discovery in the backyard of his home, finding one of his shoes at the edge of the woods. This discovery led to the deployment of police dogs, which were able to pick up his scent and track it for a distance. However, the trail abruptly ended by a roadside, leading investigators to believe that Elbert may have gotten into a vehicle. Despite an extensive search of the surrounding area, no further evidence or clues to his whereabouts were found. The overview of this case is that of a man who disappeared under puzzling circumstances from his own neighborhood. The discovery of his shoe and the scent trail ending at a road suggest a possible departure in a vehicle, but whether this was voluntary or not remains unknown. The lack of any communication or sightings since 2013 has left his case unsolved and his family waiting for answers.
