In the autumn of 2014, the life of 26-year-old Kenneth Eugene Wright was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. On the evening of September 30th, police responded to a call in the Chickasaw neighborhood and discovered Wright suffering from a gunshot wound on Grand Avenue, near 40th Street. He was rushed to University Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries the following morning, on October 1, 2014.
The investigation into the shooting death of the young man, a male, quickly
identified a person of interest. Authorities determined that the incident stemmed from an altercation between Wright and an acquaintance. This led to the arrest of 37-year-old Anthony Bell, who was subsequently charged with the murder of Kenneth Wright.
Following his arrest, Anthony Bell was arraigned on murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting. The case then proceeded through the legal system, with a court hearing scheduled for late October of that year. The arrest of a suspect brought a measure of progress for investigators and the community, as they sought to bring justice for the untimely death of Kenneth Eugene Wright.
