On a Friday afternoon in Winchester, Kentucky, the life of 54-year-old Melanie Gabbard was tragically cut short. On December 18, 2015, at her workplace, Palmer Engineering, a former romantic partner, 43-year-old Rick Lambert, entered the building and shot her before taking his own life. The incident, which occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m., was described as a murder-suicide.
