In the early morning hours of June 9, 2016, the life of 27-year-old Douglas James 'DJ' Jordan, a male resident of Lexington, Kentucky, was tragically cut short. At approximately 2:49 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of E. Maxwell Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jordan lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Eyewitness accounts from that fateful night painted a grim picture of the events that transpired. Jordan was reportedly walking down the street when he was ambushed from behind by three unknown individuals. One of them fired a weapon, striking Jordan. The assailants then fled the scene, disappearing into the night. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Jordan succumbed to his injuries the following day, on June 10, 2016.
