In the early afternoon of a Saturday in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, a violent encounter cut short the life of 24-year-old Tarone Kiaire Williams. On October 15, 2016, Williams was in the parking lot of the Marathon service station located at the corner of East 9th Street and Campbell Street when he was shot by a suspect. Despite his injuries, Williams managed to get into his vehicle and drive away from the scene, heading westbound on East 9th Street.
His attempt to flee was tragically brief.
