In the quiet neighborhood of Honey Jay Court in Lexington, Kentucky, the evening of May 28, 2017, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to a call at approximately 10:15 p.m., police officers discovered the body of 19-year-old Devontae Oshawn Edward, a Black male, in the backyard of a residence. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
