In the summer of 2018, the life of Nevander S. Tardy, a 27-year-old Black/African American male, was cut short in Bowling Green, Kentucky. On the evening of July 11, 2018, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Tardy was discovered near Rock Creek Road with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders arrived at the scene, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
The Bowling Green Police Department promptly launched a homicide investigation into Tardy's death.
Authorities canvassed the area for evidence and spoke with potential witnesses. Some individuals reported hearing a confrontation just before the sound of gunshots, leading investigators to believe that the shooting was not a random act of violence.
