In the summer of 2019, the quiet community of New Haven, Kentucky, was shaken by the tragic death of 39-year-old Nicole Leanne Smith Murray. On Monday, July 22nd, she was found deceased on a property on River Road in nearby LaRue County. Nicole Murray, a resident of New Haven, was found
shot twice inside a car on the property. As investigators processed the scene, they discovered a second female victim, 33-year-old Brittany Wilson of Louisville. In a particularly gruesome turn of events, Wilson's dismembered remains were located in a freezer within the mobile home on the site. The investigation into Wilson's death determined that she had been killed at a separate location in Louisville before her body was brought to the LaRue County residence.
The third body discovered at the scene was that of 40-year-old Michael Murray of Louisville. The investigation concluded that Michael Murray was the perpetrator of the double homicide. After killing both Nicole Murray and Brittany Wilson, he set the mobile home on fire. Before taking his own life at the scene, Michael Murray contacted a relative and confessed to the murders.
