On November 19, 2012, James Holman, aged 32, was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois, in what was reported as a gang-related incident. The killing took place near the 6000 block of South Michigan Avenue. Holman, who was allegedly affiliated with the Gangster Disciples, became a victim of the violent retaliation cycle that was common among rival gangs in Chicago during that period.
