Lamont D. Porter, Jr., a 28-year-old Black male, was tragically killed on September 12, 2020, in a drive-by shooting in the Chickasaw neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. His death marked the 115th homicide in the city that year. On that day, Porter had been visiting family on Grand Avenue and was sitting in a car with his cousin when another vehicle pulled up alongside them and opened fire. Porter was fatally wounded in the attack, while his cousin was also shot but survived.
