In the heart of a Louisville, Kentucky winter, on December 16, 2020, the life of 23-year-old Tyron Grant was tragically cut short. A Black male, Grant was found fatally shot in the Cloverleaf neighborhood, a victim of a double homicide that also claimed the life of 26-year-old John R. Johnson. The Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a call on Gagel Avenue to find both men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into
the deaths of Grant and Johnson was launched amidst a year marked by a record number of homicides in Louisville. Despite the efforts of the LMPD homicide unit, the case has grown cold, and justice for the two young men remains elusive. Two unidentified suspects, described as wearing masks and dressed in all black, were seen fleeing the area of the shooting and getting into a black car. To this day, no arrests have been made, and the individuals responsible for the deaths of Tyron Grant and John Johnson have not been publicly identified.
