Hakeem Walton, aged 20, was fatally shot in the South Chicago neighborhood on December 22, 2012. Walton, who was originally from Hammond, Indiana, was reportedly shot while in a vehicle early that morning. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was later pronounced dead at 6:35 p.m. This shooting occurred amidst a particularly violent year for Chicago, which saw a significant surge in homicides and gun-related crimes, with 2012 ending as one of the deadliest years f ...
