In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Louisville, Kentucky, tragedy struck a young life. On January 10, 2021, 17-year-old Yasin Abdulkadir, a Black male, was fatally shot in the Park Hill neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 1800 block of Dumesnil Street, near Dr. W.J. Hodge Street.
Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a report of a shooting and, upon their arrival, discovered the teenager deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as Yasin Abdulkadir. The LMPD Homicide Unit is handling the ongoing investigation into his death.
Despite the investigation, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Law enforcement has urged anyone with information regarding the case to contact their anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD.
