In the early morning hours of June 17, 2021, a 27-year-old man named Juvon Foster was fatally shot in Louisville, Kentucky. The incident occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. in a parking lot situated between two popular establishments, Akiko's and Nowhere Bar, in the Highlands neighborhood on Bardstown Road. Foster was leaving one of the bars when he was shot multiple times and sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

For over a year, the case remained under investigation without a publicly named suspect. However, law enforcement eventually made a significant breakthrough. In November 2022, the Louisville Metro Police Department announced the arrest of Sherman Sherley in connection with Foster's murder. According to the arrest warrant, Sherley had been waiting in a gray Charger in the parking lot before the shooting.

The investigation uncovered crucial evidence linking Sherley to the crime. The handgun used in the shooting was discovered the following day on Grinstead Drive. Forensic analysis of the weapon revealed Sherley's DNA on the magazine of the handgun. Furthermore, cell phone records placed Sherley in the vicinity of the crime scene at the time of the murder. Based on this evidence, Sherman Sherley was charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
