In the early evening of June 20, 2021, a young Black man named De’Andre’ Le’Vell Colbert’s life was cut tragically short. The 22-year-old was at the Southland Terrace Shopping Center in Louisville, Kentucky, near the CVS pharmacy on Seventh Street Road, when gunfire erupted around 7:45 p.m. Responding to the call, Louisville Metro Police found Colbert at the scene, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite any medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the shopping center.
