In the cool of a late Saturday evening in Lexington, Kentucky, the life of 28-year-old Pietro Swain was brought to a violent and abrupt end. On November 20, 2021, just before 10:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night's quiet in the vicinity of North Limestone and Fifth Street, near Duncan Park. When police responded to reports of shots fired, they discovered Swain in the driver's seat of his car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Fayette County coroner's office would later rule his death a homicide.
