In the spring of 2022, the life of a young man from Louisville, Kentucky, was tragically cut short. Denim J Sullivan-Miller, a 19-year-old male, was known for his outgoing personality and his active involvement in his high school community, where he had been a member of the football team, track team, and the Future Farmers of America. Having graduated in 2020, he was remembered by those who knew him as a kind individual who loved everybody.
On the morning of April 21, 2022, Denim was
found with gunshot wounds in the 1400 block of Catalpa Street in Louisville's Parkland neighborhood. He was quickly transported to the University of Louisville Hospital. Initially, there was a glimmer of hope as his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. However, his condition took a turn for the worse, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital on April 22, 2022.
The Louisville Metro Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting. Their efforts led to the arrest of a 17-year-old boy in connection with Denim's death. The teenage suspect, whose name was not publicly released due to his age, was charged with murder and first-degree robbery. The case against the suspect is proceeding through the legal system as the community continues to mourn the loss of a young life full of promise. His funeral was held on April 28, 2022, where friends and family gathered to remember the young man whose life had been so violently ended.
