In the early morning hours of Saturday, December 2, 2023, the life of 23-year-old Damion Taylor was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department's Second Division arrived at the 1600 block of Moore Court in the Algonquin neighborhood to a grim scene. There, they discovered Mr.
Taylor, a male, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later publicly identified the victim as Damion Taylor. News of his sudden and violent death sent ripples through his community and family. An obituary for Dami'on Malik Taylor remembered him as a son, a brother, and a grandson, survived by his mother, Ebony Dansby, his father, Robert Taylor, and numerous siblings and grandparents who are now left to mourn their profound loss.
In the wake of the shooting, LMPD's Homicide unit has taken the lead in the ongoing investigation.
