In the summer of 2022, the life of 38-year-old Kadage Albert Byishimo was tragically cut short by an act of gun violence in Lexington, Kentucky. On July 20th, police responded to a call from an apartment on Quinton Court. Inside, they discovered Byishimo suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The investigation into the death of the male victim moved forward over the following weeks.
Less than a month later, on August 17, 2022, the Lexington Police Department announced a significant development in the case with the arrest of a suspect. Keith Denton, a 27-year-old man, was taken into custody and charged in connection with Byishimo's death.
Denton faced a litany of serious charges, including murder, first-degree wanton endangerment, and tampering with physical evidence. His arrest also brought to light other alleged criminal activities, as he was additionally charged with three counts of violating a Kentucky protective order, two counts of receiving stolen firearms, methamphetamine trafficking, and marijuana possession. Following his apprehension, Denton was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center.
