In the early morning hours of September 18, 2022, a sense of unease settled over the Algonquin neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It was on this day that 26-year-old Antwuan Dejaun Hill, a Black male, found his life tragically cut short. Reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of Dixie Highway prompted a response from the Louisville Metro Police Department's Second Division at approximately 9:20 a.m.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Hill suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were quickly on the scene, and Hill was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he succumbed to them shortly after his arrival.
