On what should have been a day of celebration, Sergeant James William Anderson's life was tragically cut short on his 36th birthday, August 31, 1982, in Wayzata, Minnesota. A White male and a 13-year veteran of law enforcement, Anderson was responding to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment building at the intersection of Rice Street and Superior Boulevard.
