In the small town of Chisholm, Minnesota, the evening of March 6, 2010, took a tragic turn, forever altering the lives of many. Edward J. Walberg Jr., a 40-year-old male, was fatally shot at Jim's Sports Bar & Grill. The night was bustling with activity, as many patrons were there following a Chamber of Commerce fundraising golf tournament.
The perpetrator was identified as Jason Mark Musburger, who was 47 years old at the time and a former Chisholm police officer.
Musburger entered the crowded bar armed with two handguns and opened fire at a table where his ex-wife was seated with friends. The motive for the shooting appeared to stem from a domestic dispute, as Musburger had a restraining order against him as part of his divorce decree from the previous year.
In the ensuing chaos, Edward Walberg was struck by a single gunshot and died from his injuries. Two other men, Cale Nelson and Larry Elj, were also shot and injured during the attack.
