In the pre-dawn hours of August 31, 2010, the quiet of rural Lake Crystal, Minnesota, was broken by a frantic 911 call from Jennifer Nibbe. She told the dispatcher that an intruder, his head covered by a nylon stocking, had broken into her home, shot her 26-year-old husband, James Mervin Nibbe, a White male, and then attacked her before fleeing.
