On a Tuesday afternoon in Minneapolis, January 26, 2016, police responded to a call about a person sleeping in a car on the 1000 block of Sheridan Avenue North. When officers arrived at the scene around 12:20 p.m., they discovered a young African-American man, 25-year-old Darnell Lavery Wilkes, deceased inside the vehicle.
