Darnell Lavery Wilkes was a 25-year-old Black man from Minneapolis, Minnesota, whose life ended in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday, January 26, 2016. In the Willard-Hay area on the city's North Side, the day was already in motion when police were sent to the 1000 block of Sheridan Avenue North after a report of a man inside a car who appeared to be unconscious.
