In the summer of 2011, the life of 51-year-old Caucasian female Kimberly Paulette Grew was tragically cut short in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. On the evening of August 13, 2011, in Virginia, Minnesota, events unfolded that would end in the deaths of Kimberly and her estranged husband, 54-year-old Brian Grew.
Around 8 p.m. that Saturday, a distressing 911 call was made by a female screaming for help.
Just four minutes later, a second caller reported to dispatchers that a man had just shot his wife. When police arrived at the scene on the 1800 block of Wolf Road, they discovered both Kimberly and Brian Grew deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators, after speaking with witnesses and examining the scene, concluded that Brian Grew shot his estranged wife before turning the gun on himself. The Virginia Police Department was assisted in their investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol. Autopsies were scheduled to confirm the cause of death for both individuals. The incident was investigated as a murder-suicide, with Brian Grew as the sole suspect in Kimberly's death.
