Devonte Rashawn Coppage, aged 22, was fatally shot on January 3, 2014, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Coppage, a college student and father of a young son, was attempting to purchase marijuana outside a gas station at White Bear and Maryland avenues when the incident occurred. According to a criminal complaint, Coppage had arranged the drug buy over the phone and was accompanied by his brother to the gas station.
